I see your houses are built with insulated concrete walls, what is that?
Insulating Concrete Forms (ICFs) are stay-in-place formwork for energy-efficient, cast-in-place reinforced-concrete walls.

The forms are interlocking modular units that are dry-stacked (without mortar) and filled with concrete. The forms lock together somewhat like Lego bricks and serve to create a form for the structural walls of a building. Concrete is pumped into the cavity to form the structural element of the walls. Reinforcing steel (rebar) is added before concrete placement to give the resulting walls flexural strength, similar to bridges and high-rise buildings made of concrete. After the concrete has cured, or firmed up, the forms are left in place permanently.

This method has several advantages compared to traditional building materials, especially in residential and light commercial construction. The advantages of structures built with this method include:

• Minimal, if any, air leaks -> comfort, less heating/cooling loss
• Superior energy performance -> Lower energy bills
• High sound absorption -> Peace and quiet inside
• Time-tested structural integrity -> Resistance to forces of nature
• Low maintenance, high durability, very long lifespan -> Higher resale values
• When the building is constructed on a concrete slab, the walls and floors form one continuous surface. This keeps out insects
• Concrete does not rot when it gets wet.

I see your houses include Icynene insulation, what is that?
Icynene® is the leading 100% water-blown foam insulation that minimizes air leakage for increased energy efficiency, creates a healthier indoor environment, reduces airborne sounds and offers greater design freedom. Icynene® maintains its performance with no loss of R-value over time. It does not shrink, sag or settle. Icynene® adheres to most construction materials and is the perfect insulation for walls, attics, ceilings and floors.

Applied as a liquid, Icynene® expands to 100 times its volume in seconds to fill every crack and crevice while remaining flexible so that the integrity of the building envelope seal remains intact over time. The Barcelona model is too big. Do you have other models?
We have a smaller version (Barcelona 2) that is 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. It is about 500 square feet smaller than the Barcelona model. Please contact us or visit the model for a full tour and/or more information.
